Jer (real name "Jerry Swain") wasn't
always a full-time confectioner.

In fact, he started his business career about
as far from chocolate as you can get.
Following his college years, Jer was a highly
recognized award-winning salesman and sales manager
for IBM. After IBM, he relocated to beautiful San Diego,
California where as Executive Vice President of Marketing
and Business Development, led two area firms to much
success in their business ventures.

A well-recognized public speaker, Jer has often presented on sales, marketing and business development topics around the country and overseas. The Swain Group, his business consulting practice offered training, workshops and executive coaching in helping guide businesses toward their goals and improving their performance.

Community involvement is very important to Jer, and consequently, Jer often can be found volunteering time and resources to many non-profit organizations. He sits on the Board of Directors for the UCR Alumni Association as well as the American Cancer Society in San Diego.

Of course, when you meet Jer face-to-face, one trait stands out above all the rest: he's a fun guy, who looks for ways to bring a smile to everyone he meets. (In fact, he was featured on "America's Funniest People".) That sense of "fun" permeates everything he does, including his more recent foray into the world of gourmet chocolates. Jer set out to parlay his personal interests, zest for life and community involvement into reality when Swain Creations introduced Jer's Handmade chocolate confections in November 2000.
