What does "Handmade" mean?
Unlike a mass-producer of candy, our gourmet chocolates are lovingly made in small batches. Our hands-on attention to scooping, rolling, dipping and decorating, gives our gourmet confections the subtle nuances that make for truly great taste. You get all the taste of making it yourself --- without the mess!

Does Jer's Handmade Chocolates™ do fundraising for charities?
We take a proactive role in our community participating in volunteer activities and assisting in charitable fundraising. We're excited to partner with our customers to support several worthy nonprofit organizations. During the checkout process when placing an order, we offer customers an option of donating a portion of the proceeds to one of Jer's Handmade Chocolates' Charity Partners. During the checkout process when placing an order, you will be asked to enter your discount, coupon, or "dollar-off" codes in the Promotional Code box provided. In Final Review of your order, you'll see the discount you've received, along with the total amount or your order.

We're excited to partner with our customers to support charitable organizations. During the checkout process when placing an order, you will be asked to enter your Charity Code in the box provided. In Final Review of your order, you'll see the Charity you've benefited, along with the amount Jer's Handmade will donate! Are your chocolates fresh? How long will they keep?
Jer's Handmade Chocolates™ is made in small batches to ensure you get the freshest product possible! We recommend enjoying your chocolates within thirty days of receiving them. (We've never been able to keep away that long!) Our products can be stored in the freezer for up to four months, if wrapped tightly in plastic wrap or a zipper-lock bag to provide a proper moisture barrier. Care should be taken upon thawing, to prevent "blooming" - which results in a graying of the chocolate. Don't worry! It's not harmful, just not very pleasing to the eye. When thawing our chocolates from the freezer, leave them at room temperature for approximately 24 hours, with the moisture barrier (plastic wrap) intact.

I keep seeing "Award-Winning" --- what awards has Jer's Handmade Chocolates™ won?
Jer's Handmade has been the recipient of numerous awards for our unique gourmet chocolates. Jer's original recipe, the Original IncrediBall™ (the one that started it all!) won the award for Best First Time Confection at the Retail Confectioners International Chocolate Conference in 2001, in a competition that drew more than 700 confectioners attending from the United States, Europe and Canada! More recently, Pretzo Change-O™ took the award for Best New Piece as well as the prestigious, Best of Show award at the 2002 RCI Conference in Chicago. And not to be outdone, Cara Mella, our latest gourmet peanut butter ball, with a homemade caramel patty, double-enrobed in chocolate, took Best New Piece at the 2003 RCI Conference in Philadelphia.

We do not currently offer Sugar Free alternatives, but are developing new flavors constantly. Join our email list, and we'll notify you of new flavors as they are introduced.

How do you determine your shipping and handling costs?
Shipping and handling costs are based on the dollar amount you spend on our products as well as the shipping method you prefer. Review our Shipping Policy for all of our options and their costs. Please remember, shipping cost is per recipient.

May I ship Jer's Handmade Chocolates™ gourmet chocolates in the summer?
Jer's Handmade Chocolates™ may be shipped throughout the year. In warmer months, we take care to send your shipment in insulated packaging and with cold packs to keep your gourmet chocolates cool and fresh. In some cases, overnight shipping may be required. Review our Shipping Policy for all of our options and their costs.

When will my order arrive?
We offer a number of options in shipping your product. If you have a specific date in mind, you may select that date, and we will deliver your chocolates in the most economical fashion to arrive on that date. (Some restrictions may apply. See Shipping Policy.) Our Standard Delivery arrives usually within 3-7 business days. Selecting 2-Day or Overnight Service is also available. All orders placed before 11:00 am (PST) will be processed that same day. If your order is placed after 11:00 am (PST), please allow 24 hours for processing.

Do you ship on the weekends?
We ship during the traditional business days Monday through Friday excluding holidays, for arrival Tuesday through Saturday. Shipping only occurs Monday through Wednesday during warmer months (April – September). Due to the perishability of our gourmet chocolates, we do not guarantee Monday deliveries.
